Put some living art in your living room
A Bengal cat at play is a sight to behold, a whirlwind of energy and mischief.
Playfulness is a Bengal cat’s mantra, an ode to their wild origins and domestic charm.
Allergies?
Bengal cats are one of the least allergenic of cat breeds. They are minimal shedders with a tight sleek coat. While we make no guarantees regarding allergies, we do have many families with allergies in the Notahill Bengals Family.
*Purina has created an allergen diet for allergy sufferers; while we have not used it ourselves (no allergies here to test it!) we have read good things!
Can my household handle a Bengal?
A Bengal is a highly interactive family member that thrives in an active household with family, kids, and other pets to play with. However, they are still a cat and happy to nap many hours of the day.
Some cheats to make it a little easier:
A kitty wheel - Ziggy Doo Ferris Wheel is the top of the line; One Fast Cat makes a more economical wheel, but it also sounds like an airplane taking off.
A catio - we have multiple catios and our cats all love to come and go in and out, all times of the year, but especially in the summer. Bengals love the heat.
1 or 2?
Bengals are always better in pairs! We humans have busy lives, that frequently take us away from home, and usually our precious kitties can’t come along (all those awful things like work and school). A bored cat is a bad cat.
Your biggest question is….do you want a matched or contrasting set?
Hybrid Origins
Bengal cats are a hybrid breed created by crossing domestic cats with Asian leopard cats. This unique lineage gives them their distinctive wild appearance and energetic behavior.
Love for Water
Unlike most cats, Bengal cats are known for their fascination with water. They enjoy playing in it, swimming, and even joining their owners in the shower.
Highly Active and Playful
Bengals are very active cats that require plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. They love to climb, jump, and play, often turning their homes into personal playgrounds.
Intelligent and Trainable
Bengal cats are highly intelligent and can be trained to perform tricks, walk on a leash, and even play fetch. Their curiosity and eagerness to learn make them engaging companions.
Unique Coat Patterns
Bengals are known for their beautiful coats, which can feature spots, rosettes, or marbled patterns. Their fur often has a glittery appearance, adding to their exotic charm.
Social and Affectionate
Bengal cats are known for their friendly and social nature. They often get along well with other pets, including dogs, and enjoy spending time with their human companions.
Vocal and Communicative
Bengals are quite vocal and will often "talk" to their owners. They use a variety of sounds to express their needs and desires, making them interactive pets.
